Even though they lost their home match, the players of Fiorentina, at the end of the match, gathered in front of the pitch exit and applauded the players of Inter as they were going in the dressing rooms.

With the score 0-0, Brienza gave up an easy occasion to score against his ex-club by stopping the action whilst alone with the ball in front of the opponents goalkeeper in order to let the medical staff tend two injured players, one from each team. At the end his team lost the game.

In this Serie B match, Ascoli scored a goal to go in the lead whilst an injured Reggina player was on the ground and all Reggina players were making signs to halt gameplay in order that the injured player can be treated or substituted. After the goal celebrations and a small fight that broke out due to this incident which saw the Reggina Goalkeeper being shown the Red Card, Ascoli coach (who the previous season coached Reggina) Pillon ordered his players to let the Reggina players equilize and so they left one of their attackers to score unopposed in order that the error committed by his players will be fairly repaired. At the end Pillon's team lost their home match 1-3.
19 December 2010 - Lazio vs Udinese 3-2
With Udinese in disadvantage, Di Natale in a counter attack, found himself with the ball in his feet and the way clear to the goal defended only by the Lazio Goalkeeper. Di Natale throw the ball out of the pitch when he noticed that a player of Lazio was on the ground injured and missed a clear chance to equilize. At the end of the match Udinese lost the game.

Since the Italian National Team is among the very few National Teams who almost won all the major competitions and trophies that football can offer, both World and European, it is logically that the azzurri players and officials who achieved this success are bestowed with the major individual awards and honours. The eighth page of Individual Honours concentrates also on the Italian domestic awards, mainly all the awards organsied by the AIC (Associazione Italiana Calciatori - Italian Footballers Association), the defunct Oscars del Calcio - Football Oscars: Best Overall Player, Best Italian Player, Best Young Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Coach, Best Referee, and the Oscars Speciali - Special Oscars: Player of the Century, Most Loved Player, Best Scorer, Best Goal, Fair Play and Champion of Champions; and the current Gran Gala Del Calcio: Best Overall Player, Best Team of the Year.

Award Objective and Structure - The 'Gran Gala del Calcio - Best
Overall Player' (Migliore Calciatore Assoluto) award is given to
those players who have stood out in the previous Serie A season. All the Italian players members of the AIC, together with a selection of coaches, referees and sports journalists are asked to vote for the eleven best players of last season according to their playing positions (1 Goalkeeper, 4 Defenders, 3 Midfielders, 3 Forwards) to form the 'Best Team of the Year'. The player who obtains the most votes is automatically awarded the 'Gran Gala Del Calcio - Best Overall Player' award. This award replaced the defunct 'Oscar del Calcio - Best Overall Player' (Migliore Calciatore Assoluto) award.
